The system provider Viega has extended its variable product range for floor drainage by adding further products especially designed for refurbishments. With a very low construction height of between 62 mm and 67 mm, depending on the version, these models are perfect for use in existing buildings. This means that there is now nothing to prevent modern bathrooms being designed with a floor-level shower, even in the case of renovation.

A floor-level shower not only increases the level of comfort – as a barrier-free facility, it is an important factor in the long-term letting of properties as a result of demographic developments. Viega has designed the new Advantix drains to have flatter base units with lower floor construction heights, thus allowing them to be installed even in low-floor constructions.

Versatile

The shower channels Advantix and Advantix Basic as well as the straight versions of corner drains can be supplemented by the new drain to create an ultra-flat solution. This simplifies storage and logistics for the trade professional.

As of now a point drain for quadratic and round grates is available. The Advantix Basic shower channel rounds off the range, being a complete package for floor or wall installation. It is obtainable in five different lengths.

The installation height of the point drains is 62 mm, of the corner drains 66 mm, and of the shower channels 67 mm. Despite their flat design, the new models still have a drainage capacity of 0.4 to 0.5 l/s.

Hydraulically and hygienically safe

Reliable protection against sewer odours and gases is an integral part of a professionally configured drainage system. The drains retain a safe water seal head of 25 mm. The hydraulically convenient construction of the Advantix base unit also ensures back-up protection.

The new Advantix drains are self-cleaning – another result of the well-conceived hydraulic system. The flow channels are designed in such a way that the draining water carries off all the dirt with it, even hairs. At the same time it is still possible to access the drainpipe with a 6.4 mm spiral.
