Hygiene has the topmost priority in the research, development and production departments of a pharmaceutical company such as Altana Pharma AG. Even the slightest changes to the ingredients used could distort the end result.
For this reason, the pipework system intended to transport media for the new building of the F22 research centre was put through its paces before installation. The Sanpress Inox stainless steel pipe system by Viega fulfilled all the required criteria, for example, optimum water quality even after long flow distances or standstill periods together with the required resistance to deionised water.
About 12,000 metres of Sanpress Inox was installed for hot and cold water, circulation and deionised water in the new building, which cost 22.5 million EUR. Another decisive advantage was the cold press connection technique with the forced leakage of the SC-Contur when unpressed so that the best possible installation and operational security is guaranteed from the very beginning.
