The pharmaceutical company, Grünenthal used press technology for the copper pipes in its new building of the “Central Packaging Point” for compressed air, nitrogen and vacuum. The pharmaceutical manufacturer invested about 25 million EUR in a modern logistics centre in Aachen-Eilendorf.
The compressed air and vacuum provision for the “Central Packaging Point” was designed using Profipress. The fact that press fittings could be used in the vacuum network was linked to the specification of the leakage rate. In comparison with other companies, Grünenthal has a helium leakage rate of up to 10־³ mbar l/s. This is guaranteed by the system supplier, Viega.
