Gas fittings


Viega gas fittings are tested in acc. with DVGW-​TRGI 2018 (DVGW worksheet G 600) and certified for use with gases in acc. with DVGW worksheet G 260. All components comply with the test criteria for higher thermal resistance (HTR) according to DIN 3537‑1 and are tested for leak tightness.

The installation should be carried out using sealants certified according to DIN 30660 with suitable tools in acc. with DVGW-​TRGI 2018.

    Gas fittings with press connections
    All sizes with SC‑Contur – accidently unpressed connections become visible during filling the system. The SC‑Contur is certified and fulfils the requirements of DVGW worksheet G 5614. Point 4.4.1, Connectors with forced leakage.
    During leakage tests with water Viega guarantees the identification of unpressed connections in the pressure range 0.1 MPa–0.65 MPa, in the case of dry leakage tests with compressed air or noble gases from 22 hPa–0.3 MPa.

    The use of the system for other than those described areas of application and media must be approved by the Viega Service Center.

    Operating conditions
    Gas and liquid gas systems
    • Operating temperature -20 °C up to +70 °C
    • Operating pressure: max. 0.5 MPa
    • Operating pressure at HTR requirement 650 °C/30 minutes max. 0.1 MPa (1 bar)

    Higher thermal resistance (HTR)
    According to DVGW-​TRGI 2018 gas fittings must fulfil the test criteria for higher thermal resistance in acc. with DIN 3537‑1. The HTR requirement on gas fittings offers a high degree of safety and is a general rule of engineering. Viega gas fittings are highly thermal resistant (HTR) and fulfil all of the requirements of DIN 3537‑1.

    Thermal shut-​off system (TSS)
    The TRGI requires the installation of a TAE or a corresponding construction protection for all components which are not highly thermal resistant. Viega offers a comprehensive product range of automatically thermally closing safety valves, which are integrated into ball valves, gas sockets and slotted valves.

    Use of press tools
    The functional safety of the Viega press connector systems primarily depends on the perfect condition of the press tools and press machines used. For this reason, for the production of press connections we recommend the use of Viega press tools and their regular inspection by authorised service points.
