Process water systems

Finding the right pipe system

Conditioned water for chemical, medical and other processes is also referred to as "non-potable water". It denotes water which does not meet the requirements of the local Drinking Water Ordinance. Viega offers the right pipe system for chemically aggressive non-potable water.

Usage of non-potable water

Conditioned water is more chemically aggressive than potable water and therefore often contains metal ions from the pipe systems.

This non-potable water is essentially differentiated as follows:

  • Partially demineralised or demineralised water
  • Softened water
  • Processed water
  • Osmosis water

Sanpress Inox

Demineralised water is free of salts and their ions and therefore has low conductivity. Its high solubility makes it aggressive to pipe materials. The Sanpress Inox pipe system and associated press connectors are particularly well suited to use with demineralised and softened water.

List of media

Viega press connection technology with the Sanpress, Sanpress Inox, Profipress, Prestabo and Megapress systems has proven its value in potable water and building services installations over many years of application. It is increasingly being used in industrial systems which have special operating conditions regarding the pressure, temperature and concentration of the transported media. Careful consideration is required when choosing the pipe and sealing material. The "Fields of application for metal installation systems" information brochure, which is available to download on the right, will make this choice easier.

Always there for you – Viega Service
