Extraordinary architecture, modern Viega system technology
The Netherlands has always been a nation of gardeners, a fact emphasised every 10 years by the world horticultural exhibition known as the Floriade. In 2012 it was held from 5 April to 7 October in the North Limburg town of Venlo. For the distinctive entrance building known as the Innova Tower, Viega supplied its Prestabo piping system and Viega Eco Plus pre-wall system elements.
A smart, future-proof solution
The Innova Tower was the icon at Floriade 2012, an ultra-modern structure towering over the North Limburg landscape. As well as an imposing atrium, the building accommodated offices and an exhibition area, meeting and conference rooms as well as the Floriade Business Lounge. As the Innova Tower was to continue in use as an office complex once Floriade 2012 was over, all its facilities and installations had to be designed for this purpose from the beginning. With the exception of the ground floor and the exhibition room on the top floor, all floors had been converted to raised floors, with the complete pipework for heating and cooling systems installed underfloor. This is a smart solution that offers optimum flexibility for leasing office space going forward.
Economic installation technology
For the heating pipework, the contractor Thissen Installatietechniek chose Viega’s Prestabo system with all the benefits offered by press technology like easy and cost-effective installation. A main feature of Viega’s press connection system is the so-called SC-Contur which will show up any forgotten pressings during a leak test.
As well as the Prestabo system, Thissen put its trust in the Viega Eco Plus elements of which around 50 were supplied for toilets and urinals. The Viega Eco Plus pre-wall system combines proven technology with smart, practical installation details to deliver minimal assembly and installation costs.
