Viega plays its part in one of Austria's biggest printing houses
International survival in the highly competitive print market is an entrepreneurial challenge. The offset printing house Schwarzach faces this challenge on a daily basis. It has established itself a good reputation well beyond national borders with its cardboard packaging and labels for the consumer goods industry. And today it exports more than 70% of its products. The company is committed to the efficient and sparing use of energy and resources. Equally, ecological and economic conduct is an integral part of the corporate philosophy.
And the company keeps on expanding: In 2010 the shop floor area was expanded and a lightweight timber construction was put into service as a high rack warehouse. Here more than 5 km of Viega piping systems were used for the sanitation and heating installation alone.
The piping system for the drinking water installation, for example, is made of stainless steel. Sections of the network are comprised exclusively of stainless steel components from the Sanpress Inox system. In the cellar distribution and risers, however, gunmetal connectors were used. Both materials are a guarantee for both high quality and lasting operational safety. They are also 100% recyclable. This is fundamental to the "Green Building" concept which strives to achieve a high degree of environmental friendliness not only in terms of construction and operation but also with respect to demolition.
Simple handling
The metal materials used in the pipelines were one of the reasons behind the decision to use the Viega systems, the processing time during installation was a further and equally important factor. The economic and also quick and safe press connection technology as well as the holistic system range made the Viega piping systems the obvious choice. The coordinated systems enabled, for example, all the pipe connections in sizes from 15 to 76 mm to be connected quickly and reliably using the same press tool. The SC-Contur in the connectors ensured that the connections were leakproof.
And the pressing process saved both time and money: Compared to soldering, the standard DNs in the storey installation were completed in around half the time. This all helps to contribute to ongoing ecological and economic success.
