Viega opens new plant in the USA
New location brings us closer to our customers
Mantua, Ohio / Attendorn, 9 September 2025 – Viega LLC, a Viega Group company, has officially opened a new production facility with a seminar centre in the US state of Ohio. With the investment of around 178 million US dollars and an area of 20,400 square meters, the company is expanding its manufacturing capacities in the United States. After McPherson in Kansas, Mantua is Viega’s second production site in the USA.
“Despite the current challenges, North America is a key market in our growth strategy,” says Markus Brettschneider, CEO of the Viega Group. He continues to see great potential especially in metal press fittings for plumbing and heating. “The new plant in Mantua brings us closer to our customers in the eastern United States and in Canada. Shorter delivery routes ensure better availability and faster reaction times.”
Production and training on site
In addition to manufacturing, a training centre has also been established at the new location that offers skilled tradespeople and partners the opportunity to experience Viega systems in a practical setting. The Viega Group maintains 24 such seminar centres worldwide. “For us, it is crucial that our customers not only receive products but also the knowledge to use them optimally. Mantua combines production, training, and consulting in one location,” explained Marki Huston, CEO of Viega North America.
Focus on sustainability
“The new plant is not only a further milestone for our presence in the US market but also a further building block of our sustainability strategy,” emphasizes Anna Viegener, Chairwoman of the Shareholders Committee of the Viega Group. With the plant in Mantua, the company is aiming to achieve a LEED Gold certification – an internationally recognized system developed by the US Green Building Council for the ecological construction and operation of buildings. The company group intends to achieve climate neutrality at all locations by 2023.
Strategic location investments
Walter Viegener, Chairman of the Shareholders Committee of the Viega Group, explains that the second production facility in the USA consistently fits the company-wide location investments. Viega is currently constructing a new production location in Kirkel (Saarland/Germany) at a cost of 150 million euros. By 2028, 250 million euros will flow into the modernization, expansion, and renewable energies of existing German locations in Thuringia and South Westphalia.
