Innovative products and solutions
The construction and building sector accounts for nearly 40% of global CO₂ emissions. That’s why it’s essential to ensure that installation systems—the lifelines of tomorrow’s buildings—are not only safe but also resource-efficient. Our products and solutions are designed to conserve energy and actively contribute to climate protection. We’re committed to making sustainable building a reality, not just a vision for the future.
Driving sustainability with data
To build more sustainably as a society, we need reliable data to guide our decisions. That’s why we’ve assessed the environmental impact of most of our product portfolio and made the results transparent through Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
Our colleagues Tobias Mass, Lukas Thelen, and Christian Lohölter explain what EPDs are and why they matter.
EPDs have an internal and an external impact. Our customers can include environmental aspects in their decisions, and the lifecycle assessments help us to identify additional ways to make our products even more sustainable.

Drinking water installations: clean, safe, efficient
Access to clean potable water is a fundamental human right—and one of the most valuable and vulnerable resources we have. At Viega, we take this responsibility seriously.
With over 125 years of experience, we support specialist tradespeople, planners, and system operators with innovative solutions and sustainable installation systems that help preserve drinking water quality over the long term.
Dr. Christian Schauer, who has led our Drinking Water Competence Centre for nearly eight years, shares how we uphold this unique market position.
One of our top priorities is combining drinking water quality and energy efficiency so as to guarantee uncompromising water hygiene while even increasing energy saving. We have already begun to test and implement alternative processes.
